
About the DA
District Attorney Stacey Eads has served Humboldt County prosecuting crime since 2001. Prior to taking office as the elected District Attorney in 2023, she was the Assistant District Attorney and led the Child Abuse Services & Sexual Assault prosecution team.
Stacey successfully prosecuted a wide range of cases and has been a staunch advocate for the rights of victims, dedicated to protecting our most vulnerable.
Her vision includes expanding support services for victims, improving crime prevention efforts, and fostering a more transparent and accountable legal system.
In 2022, she was honored by the California District Attorneys Association as the Outstanding Prosecutor of the Year for Rural/Medium Counties. She graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences prior to attending McGeorge School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor and was admitted to the Traynor Honor Society for academic excellence.
As District Attorney, Stacey prioritizes prosecution of crimes against vulnerable victims, such as children, dependent adults, and our elderly community members. A lifelong resident, born and raised in Humboldt County, Stacey commits to promoting the safety and well-being of all our community members.
