Child Abuse Services Team (CAST)

About Us 2025.04.08-CAST

Since 1996, the Humboldt County Child Abuse Services Team (CAST) has served Northern California by uniting experts from law enforcement, child welfare, county mental health, the District Attorney’s Office, North Coast Rape Crisis, and tribal social services. We are accredited by the National Children's Alliance.

Our Mission

We work to prevent child abuse and protect children by educating the community, fostering collaboration, and delivering the support families need.

Our Services

  • Community education on preventing child sexual abuse
  • Coordinated child abuse investigations with law enforcement and child welfare partners
  • Forensic medical exams and mental health referrals
  • Training for effective, minimally intrusive investigations

How We Help

Using the evidence-based Children's Advocacy Center Model, we reduce repeated interviews and trauma while improving communication among agencies and creating a child-focused, supportive environment.

Where You Can Find Us

Our office is located on the 5th floor of the Humboldt County Courthouse.
