ADA Compliance

Purpose

This ADA Compliance Division of the County Administrative Office is responsible for managing the county’s compliance with the requirements of Title Il of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 ("ADA").

Accommodations

The County of Humboldt is committed to providing equal access to all county programs, services and activities through the provision of accommodations for individuals with qualified disabilities as required under the Americans with Disabilities Act. With 72 hours prior notice, a request for reasonable accommodation can be made. Please contact the program or the ADA Coordinator at (844) 365-0352 or by email at ada@co.humboldt.ca.us.

Temporary Accommodations

The County of Humboldt is committed to ensuring equal access to county programs, services, and activities as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). While necessary repairs are underway to address and remove identified barriers to access, temporary accommodations will be made available at locations that are currently not in full compliance.

Accessible Entrance

The accessible entrance to the Humboldt County Courthouse is the Fourth Street entrance. Accessible parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Fourth Street entrance and on the Fourth Street side of the K Street. lot. If you are a person with a qualified disability and need a modification or reasonable accommodation, please contact the ADA Coordinator at (844) 365-0352 or by email at ada@co.humboldt.ca.us.

Communications Accessibility: California Relay Service (CRS)

  • TTY (Teletype) connects to a telephone for text communication instead of speaking and listening.
  • Communications Assistant (CA) "translates" between TTY user and another party.
  • The CRS user types what s/he wants to say, and the CA voices what the CRS user typed.
  • Spanish language is available.
