Corrections Officers at the Ferndale Tractor ParadeCommunity Outreach

The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office is dedicated to giving back to our community with Engagement and Service being two of our core values. The Sheriff's Office participates community events, outreach and presentations at schools. If you have a community event you would like the HCSO to be apart of, please email the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office.

Our Causes

The Sheriff's Office participates in dozens of charitable programs each year, raising money for local organizations and members of our community. Below is a list of some of the charitable causes in which the Sheriff's Office participates. This is not a complete list. We are always open to new ideas on how we can give back to our community. If you have a cause you'd like the HSCO to consider, please email the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office

Adopt a Family

Each Christmas the Sheriff's Office participates in the Salvation Army's Adopt a Family. Staff uses their own money to purchase gifts for families selected.

Battle of the Badges Blood Drive

Organized by the Eureka Police Department, Sheriff's deputies compete with other local public safety agencies to donate the most blood to the Northern California Community Blood Bank.

No Shave November

Every November, Sheriff's Office staff participates in No Shave November, raising money for support programming for local at-risk youth. Staff pays $30 to grow out their beards or dye their hair/paint their nails blue. All funds raised are traditionally donated to CASA and Wild Souls Ranch.

Shop with a Cop

Organized by the Eureka Police Department, each year HCSO staff participate in Shop with A Cop, partnering up with local kids to help them with their holiday shopping.
