Join Us for Public Safety Sunday!
The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with McKinleyville High School, McKinleyville Ace Hardware, and the McKinleyville Chamber of Commerce, proudly presents Public Safety Sunday. This is a special event offering community members the chance to connect with local public safety agencies, including Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, and OES representatives.
Come out to meet the people who help keep our community safe, see live safety demonstrations and equipment displays, and learn how you can play an important role in preparing for future emergencies and making our community safer for everyone.
Public Safety Sunday is happening on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at McKinleyville High School (1300 Murray Road).
This exciting event is designed to engage both kids and adult learners, offering a unique opportunity to explore the world of public safety up close. Attendees can enjoy a variety of interactive displays and get hands-on with real emergency equipment provided by multiple local public safety agencies. Throughout the afternoon, there will be live demonstrations showcasing lifesaving techniques, specialized tools, and the incredible work our first responders do every day. Get a look inside a Mobile Command Van, learn about helicopters, meet our K9 Deputies, and so much more! It’s an action-packed, educational experience the whole family will enjoy and a chance to learn how we all play a part in keeping our community safe.
While we know pets are part of the family, we kindly ask that you leave them at home for this event.
Please bring the whole family, invite your friends, and join us on Sunday, April 13 at McKinleyville High School for an afternoon filled with learning, hands-on fun, and community connection. All centered around safety and preparedness!
