All Active Registered Humboldt County Voters Will Receive A Ballot in the Mail

For the June 2, 2026, Statewide Direct Primary Election, all registered voters will be mailed a Vote by Mail ballot. Mailing of Vote by Mail ballots will begin no later than May 4, 2026. Supplemental Vote by Mail mailings will follow for newly registered or re-registered voters.


Make Sure Your Voter Registration Information is Up to Date

To ensure there are no delays in receiving your ballot in the mail, verify that your voter registration is up to date by visiting voterstatus.sos.ca.gov or by calling 707-445-7481 to verify both your residential and mailing address.


Need to Register to Vote or Update Your Current Voter Information?

If not, you can update your registration by re-registering to vote at registertovote.ca.gov or by calling 707-445-7481 and requesting a voter registration form be mailed to you.


How to Return Your Vote by Mail Ballot

Return your Vote by Mail ballot in one of the following ways:

  • Mail your ballot – your ballot is free to return via USPS with no postage required. Your ballot must be postmarked on or before Election Day.
  • Return your ballot to a secure ballot drop box.
  • Return your ballot to any Vote Center in Humboldt County.

Track Your Vote by Mail Ballot

Receive personalized text messages, emails or voicemails letting you know when your ballot is mailed, received, and counted by the Registrar of Voters by subscribing to WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov.


In-Person Voting

There will be seven Vote Centers operating across the county. Select Vote Centers will be open from May 4, 2026, through Election Day. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on early voting days. Open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.

 At a Vote Center, voters can:

  • Vote in person
  • Turn in a Vote by Mail ballot.
  • Use an accessible voting machine
  • Get voting materials in Spanish or Hmong
  • Register to vote and vote on the same day

If you chose to vote in person, bring your Vote by Mail Ballot to surrender so you can vote in person on a precinct ballot.
