Eureka Library

Eureka Library

The Eureka Library serves as the main branch of the Humboldt County Library system and acts as a vibrant center for community learning, research, and cultural activities. Opened in 1995, the library is known for its redwood-inspired architecture and bright, welcoming interior overlooking the waterfront. Inside, it offers extensive book and media collections, public computers and Wi-Fi, children’s programs, and the Humboldt Room, which houses valuable local-history resources. The library is also home to the Friends of the Redwood Libraries, whose Serendipity Book Store on the second floor supports library programs through sales of donated books and media. Continuing a tradition that began with one of California’s earliest publicly funded libraries, the Eureka Library remains an essential hub of education, creativity, and community connection on the North Coast.
